Mare Nostrum – The Mediterranean Sea
Selected choral music from the Mediterranean countries

This year, the world famous boys’ choir will bring a programme of selected choral music from the Mediterranean countries to their traditional concert for the Carinthian Summer Festival at the Abbey Church of Ossiach. For more than 500 years, the Vienna Boys’ Choir has been a place where children enthusiastic about music are trained at the highest level – regardless of their social, national or cultural background. They are eager to discover new things, open-minded and international, and this is also reflected in their musical programme.
This time aournd, the young singers will be conducted by the native Italian Manolo Cagnin, who was appointed Kapellmeister of the Bruckner Choir, one of the four touring choirs of the Vienna Boys’ Choir, in 2008. With the Bruckner Choir, the vivacious conductor has already toured Vietnam, China, Singapore, Ireland, Spain, Germany, South America, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Taiwan.
