Operationen am faulen Zahn der Zeit (Operations on the rotten tooth of time) is the name of Tristan Brusch’s new EP – tragicomical, puristic. The singer, songwriter and composer has consciously adopted a very reduced approach to the whole thing, and has only allowed piano and guitar to sound in his realisation. His distinctive voice is uncompromising and pressing. This time I simply wanted to make music without thinking much and not fiddle with it afterwards, according to Brusch himself. In 2020 the multi-instrumentalist goes on tour all alone for the first time – in his suitcase only his piano, his guitar and whatever else he needs to make music: I’ll go solo on tour and am looking forward to it endlessly. In the absence of fellow musicians, I don’t have to be considerate of anyone, can spontaneously knock everything over, get even closer to the audience and don’t have to set limits on my goofiness. But band concerts are irreplaceable and will come back afterwards.
