Popular Carinthian pianist, singer and composer Tonč Feinig has been a close friend of Carinthian Summer Music Festival for many years, our connections ranging from the imaginative crossover in Damtschach Castle to events with his band in the Alban Berg Concert Hall. The gentle jazz giant continues to inspire us. Having played in several bands in his youth, Feinig progressed at the age of 16 from the Slovenian Music School/Slovenska Glasbena Šola to study at the Carinthian State Conservatory in the class of Harald Neuwirth. He spent a formative period studying in The Hague from 1994 onwards, where he worked with renowned jazz pianists such as Frans Elsen, Rob van Bavel and Rob van Krefeld. At the same time, he refined his jazz vocals through work with Rachel Gould and Jeanne Lee.
This summer, Tonč Feinig appears with the RTV Slovenia Big Band and its brand new program called Shine. He and Lojze Krajnčan have arranged the songs for Big Band in 2020 exclusively for the Carinthian Summer Music Festival. Feinig presents himself as a songwriter and singer for the first time on his new CD and with the program Shine. The renowned RTV Slovenia Big Band has been performing since 1945 and is one of the oldest bands of its kind worldwide. The song arrangements from Shine with Lojze Krajnčan for the RTV Slovenia Big Band are Tonč Feinig’s musical highlight of 2020.
After the concert, the Villach Rotary Club invites visitors to an after-show party with a charity reception in the Villach Congress Center restaurant.
This concert is supported by the BKS Bank.
