Maximilian Achatz, actor and director, crafted a matinee based on the novella The Weight of the Butterfly by the author Erri di Luca. A close observer, di Luca describes existential experiences in nature. The Weight of the Butterfly is the story of a shimmeringly clear, radiant November day, high in the mountains. For the last time, the old poacher climbs the stony path: He has killed more than three hundred animals in the course of his life, he has lived a hermit’s life for a long time. Only one is still missing: The king of the chamois, this strong, almost invincible beast whose mother he once carried down to the valley…
The Jagdhornbläsergruppe Wolfsberg, hunting horns, will play the opening. Accordionist Ján Kubiš and trombonist Anna Gruber will respond to Erri di Luca’s words with music.
