The programme presented by the young organist Johannes Zeinler in the Villach town parish church has a distinct Austrian focus. Despite his young age, he has won two of the most prestigious organ competitions at international level (St. Albans 2015 and Chartres 2018) and he is a much sought-after organist performing internationally. This concert is devoted to the organ music of his home country, with masterpieces from the baroque age to the present day. Starting with a touch of summer freshness, the first pieces played at the concert will be from Georg Muffat’s Apparatus musico-organisticus, one of the the most important collections of southern German keyboard music. From there, the artist moves on to great masterpieces by Bach and Mozart, the important Carinthian composer Nikolaus Fheodoroff, and on to the monumental Chaconne by the great Austrian symphonist Franz Schmidt. This evening will make every organ music lover’s heart leap.

This concert was curated by Klaus Kuchling.
